Susan Irene James

February 7, 1961 - March 1, 2011

imageA memorial service for Susan Irene (Wallace) James, 50, formerly of Greenwood, who passed away unexpectedly on March 1, 2011, will be held on Sunday (May 29) at 3 p.m. at Greenwood United Methodist Church with Rev. Rocky Mitchell, officiating.

There will be a time of visitation at the church immediately preceding the memorial service from 2 – 3 p.m. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. James was born on Feb. 7, 1961 in Hornell to Leo E. and Vivian N. (Andrus) Wallace. She was a 1979 graduate of Greenwood Central School.
Susan had worked for Spalding County Correctional Facility in Griffin, Ga. Previously, she worked for the Georgia Department of Corrections in Jackson, Ga. and the Union Camp in Griffin, Ga.

Susie is survived by two sons, Ricky Rude and Tyler Rude, both of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a brother, David (Sharon) Wallace of Andover; two aunts, Irene (Lloyd) Chaffee of Greenwood and Delores Andrus of Canisteo; a special niece, Bridget (Joe) Carter of Pembroke, Ky.; a special friend, Rick James of Jackson, Ga.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Larry Wallace, Leo James Wallace and Richard E. Wallace.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Susie’s name may be made to Greenwood United Methodist Church, PO Box 763, Greenwood, NY 14839.
