Maxine E. Goodridge Clark

Maxine E. Goodridge Clark, 90, passed away Monday (June 13, 2011) at Highland Healthcare Center in Wellsville.

Mrs. Clark was born on Oct. 4, 1920 in Andover to Leo B. and Mable (Burdick) Davis. She was a 1938 graduate of Andover High School. On May 13, 1939 in Wellsville, she married Lawrence R. Goodridge, who predeceased her on Sept. 17, 1984. On June 7, 1986 in Scio, she married Philip E. Clark, who predeceased her on June 17, 1988.

Maxine owned and operated with her husband the Lawrence and Raymond Goodridge Dairy Farm in Ward for many years. Additionally, she worked in the cafeteria at Alfred Agricultural and Technical College and later worked for Highland Nursing Home.

Maxine is survived by a son, Raymond L. Goodridge of Andover; two sisters, Marjorie Cornell of Andover and Agnes (Clarence) Williams of Syracuse; two brothers, Richard Davis of Andover and Charles (Penny) Davis of Akron, Ohio; a grandson, Brian Goodridge of Andover; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to both of her husbands, she was predeceased by a brother, Louis Davis; and a daughter-in-law, Margo Goodridge.

Maxine greatly enjoyed camping and square dancing. She was a longtime member of the Andover United Methodist Church and the Alfred Grange. But more than these, the love of her life was her family where she cherished the time spent with them.

There will be a time of visitation on Wednesday from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Baker-Swan Funeral Home in Andover. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home immediately following the visitation with Rev. Daniel Kenyon of the Wellsville Bible Church, officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.
