Gary L. Fogle, 58, passed away Monday (June 6, 2011) at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell, surrounded by family.
Mr. Fogle was born on Jan 12, 1953 in North Hornell to Paul R. and Reva (Butler) Fogle. He was a 1971 graduate of Canaseraga Central School. On May 24, 1980, he married Doris A. Fox, who survives.
Gary was a heavy equipment operator, working for the Town of Burns for 34 years in the Highway Maintenance Department.
In addition to his wife and parents, Gary is survived by two daughters, Candi (Gary) Valentine of Elmira and Crystal Mancilla of Bellevue, Neb.; a son, Cary Sherman of Callispell Mont.; two brothers, Andrew (Cathy) Fogle of East Rochester and James Fogle of Elmira; a sister-in-law, Shirley (Tubby) Lewis; four brothers-in-law, James Fox, Percy Fox, Oscar (Mary Jane) Fox and Loyd Fox; six grandchildren, Amanda Valentine, Ryan Valentine, Kyle Valentine, Zachary Sherman, Philip Mancilla and Cassondra Mancilla; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins..
He was predeceased by a sister, Debra Fogle and a sister-in-law, Elsie Tucker.
Gary served faithfully on the Canaseraga Cemetery Committee . He greatly enjoyed fishing and hunting and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. But more than these, he was a faithful and devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with family and friends, especially at Keuka Lake.
There will be no prior visitation. There will be a memorial service on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the God’s People Who Care Ministry in Hornell with Rev. Paul Sherman, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Baker-Swan Funeral Home in Andover. Online condolences may be offered at www.baker-swan.com.
