Lavina A. Jones

June 30, 1927 - December 5, 2025

WELLSVILLE – Lavina A. Jones, formerly of Jasper, passed away peacefully on Friday (December 5, 2025) at Highland Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Jones was born on June 30, 1927 in Jasper to Alvin E. and Katherine A. (Wauffle) Van Skiver. She was a 1945 graduate of Jasper Central School. She married Victor E. Jones, who predeceased her on June 3, 1995.

Lavina devoted herself as a homemaker, tending to the care of her husband and three children.

Lavina is survived by a son, John (Linda) Jones of Buffalo; a brother, James Van Skiver of Canisteo; a special friend, Ann Clark of Canisteo; six grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Duane Jones; a daughter, Donna McBurney; and a brother, Walter E. Van Skiver.

Lavina loved camping with her family in the Southern Tier of New York to the Adirondacks in Upstate New York. She enjoyed reading her Bible and watching TV.

There will be no prior visitation. A graveside service will be held in the spring at a date to be determined. Her ashes will be laid to rest beside her husband in Jasper Cemetery.
