Linden Neel Geshwind

SCIO – Linden Neel Geshwind, 58, passed away on Friday (June 4, 2021) at Strong Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Mr. Geshwind was born on February 8, 1963 in Drexel Hill, Pa. to Herbert and Farr (Lindenmuth) Geshwind. He served in the United States Army from 1981-83. On August 10, 2002, he married Sara Ann Shaver, who survives.

Neel was a 16-year heavy equipment operator for Casella Waste Management in Angelica from 2005 until the present.

In addition to his wife Sara, Neel is survived by two daughters, Sara Theresa Shaver of Wellsville and Aretha Gamez of Tucson, Ariz.; one sister-in-law, Sue Murphy of Texas; five grandchildren, Cloey Middaugh, Caleb Middaugh, Nevaeh Shaver, Roman Shaver and Santigo Gamez; a nephew, Brannan Geshwind; and a niece, Murphy Geshwind.

He was predeceased by a son, Nathan Shaver and a brother, Farrel Geshwind.

Neel loved keeping busy. He enjoyed his job at Casella Waste and restoring furniture. A favorite past-time was antique hunting, always watching for that next restoration project.

Family was important to Neel especially Friday night date nights with his wife. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and liked to mellow out with Jazz, Blues and Classic Rock music.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday (June 10) from 6-8 p.m. at Baker-Swan Funeral Home in Wellsville/Scio. The funeral service will be held on Friday (June 11) at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jeremy Gorham of Cornerstone Alliance Church officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Bolivar. Online condolences may be offered at www.baker-swan.com.
