Elmer had varied vocations during his life, including group leader at Macler Industries in Friendship, a machinist at Butler Larkin in Wellsville, and parts specialist at Central Tractor in Wellsville.  He also maintained a farm on the Vandermark Road in Scio, raising dairy replacement calves.

Elmer delighted in hunting and fishing and took his boys fishing at Whitesville Rod and Gun Club, the Wellsville Rod and Gun Club, and Andover Pond during the youth fishing events.
He also enjoyed listening to Hot Love on the radio, going to estate sales and attending farm auctions. He was always looking for a deal.

Elmer appreciated the help and support of his friends through the years and his family would like to thank each of you for your friendship and assistance.
