Carol J. Grossman

June 12, 1936 - July 18, 2026

ANDOVER – Carol J. Grossman, 90, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on Saturday (July 18, 2026) at Wellsville Manor Care Center following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Grossman was born on June 12, 1936 in Andover to Otto B. and Mildred E. (Dodge) Nye. She was a 1954 graduate of Andover Central School. On February 21, 1954, in Andover, she married Jesse E. Grossman, who predeceased her on July 30, 1998.

Carol worked at Alfred State College, beginning in 1971 as a cook and later in the campus book store, retiring in 1998.

Carol is survived by four sons, Jesse (Kay) Grossman, Jr. of Lyndonville, Chad (Leslee) Grossman of Castile, Martin (Kathy) Grossman of Fort Valley, Georgia and Leonard (Kimerly) Grossman of Andover; one daughter, Tracy Ann (Edward) Taylor of Rushford; a sister, Anne Katner of Perry; three sisters-in-laws, Nancy Nye of Florida, Betty Grossman of Phenix City, Alabama and Loretta Butler of Hornell.

Additionally, she is survived by 19 grandchildren, James (Kelly) Hickey, Jason (Kristie) Grossman, Jared (Melissa) Grossman, Carla Grossman, Janine Grossman, Caleb Grossman, Morgan (Daisy) Grossman, Havah (Eddie) Rodriguez, Robin Grossman, Joel Grossman, Jess Grossman, Abram Grossman, Anna (Angel) Victorino, Elizabeth (Christian) Pimentell, Gabriel Grossman, Jennifer (Tony) Miranda, Erin (fiancé Greg Kulesza) Taylor, Brett (Misty) Taylor and Robert (Morgan Tyree) Taylor; 27 great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Grossman, Dakota Grossman, Sierra Grossman, Eliza Grossman, Levi Grossman, Silas Grossman, Matthew Grossman, Malachi Grossman, Easton Grossman, Wilson Gage Martin, Morgan Daniel Grossman, Arabella Rodriguez, Lucas Rodriguez, Eddie Rodriguez, Asher Grossman, David Grossman, Laelynn Grossman, Charlie Grossman, Aniyah Grossman, Ezekiel Victorino, Benjamin Victorino, Emiliano Pimentell, Aliyanna Miranda, Enzo Miranda, August Taylor, Remi Taylor and Rowan Taylor; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband of 44 years, she was predeceased by a son, Brett Grossman; four siblings, Bruce (Sheilah) Nye, Kenneth (Shirley) Nye, Clarice (Wayne) Hurley, Lyle Nye; and two brothers-in-law, Kirk Katner and Jim Grossman

With six children, 19 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren, Carol truly loved and was extremely proud of her family. She was faithful to make all her family’s many milestones and cheer them on in whatever activities were at hand.

Carol was a woman of extraordinary faith in her God and was a life-long member of the Andover First Baptist Church. In her spare time, which wasn’t often, she liked to read.

There will be no prior visitation. A graveside service will be held on Saturday (July 25) at 1:00 at Hillside Cemetery in Andover with Rev. Daryl Ordiway, officiating.
