Donald John Rose

ANGELICA – Donald John Rose, 62, passed away unexpectedly on his birthday, February 8, 2023. Born in Hornell, N.Y., he was son to the late Doris Mae George Rose (1965) and the late David M. Rose (2020). He attended Angelica Central School, class of 1979. He proudly served his country as a Marine (1979-1989) in North Carolina (he always wanted to return), even going as far as Okinawa, Japan.

After living in Maine for 17 years, he moved back to his hometown in N.Y. in 2014 to care for his father. He was known for his kind and caring manner. He enjoyed laughing with friends, building his own gardens and being a Buffalo Bills fan!

He is succeeded by his daughter Jasmyn Lee Ann Rose and her sister Micheala Elizabeth David, and his stepson Michael Tyrone Irons. Sisters Doris Rose of Rochester, Monica Rose-Bearfield of Olean and brothers Harvey Rose of Belmont and Michael Rose of N.C. as well as numerous grandchildren, several nieces, and several nephews.

A graveside and military service will be held on Friday (July 28) at 1:00 p.m. at Bath National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Baker-Swan Funeral Home in Wellsville/Scio. © 2023 Baker-Swan Funeral Home.
