WELLSVILLE – Keith E. Fancher, 87, passed away on Tuesday (February 11, 2025) at Upstate Community Hospice House in Landrum, S.C., following a brief illness.

Mr. Fancher was born on April 9, 1937 in Scio to Homer P. and Nellie M. (June) Fancher. He was a 1955 graduate of Bolivar Central School and later served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1959.

Keith was a machinist for Dresser-Rand Corporation for 38 years; retiring in 2000.

Keith is survived by two sons, Gregory Fancher of Bolivar and Scott (Paula) Fancher of Landrum, S.C.; the mother of his children, Barbara White; six grandchildren, Andrew Fancher, Josh Fancher, Jason (Keli) Fancher, Jeremy (Molly) Fancher, Scottltyn Fancher and Jada Fancher; six great grandchildren, Cole Fancher, Addison Fancher, Ike Fancher, Reese Fancher, Remi Fancher and James Fancher; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Harlan (Jenny) Fancher and two sisters, Norma (Robert) Stewart and Dorothy (Roy) Weber.

Keith is fondly described as the most restless man alive. He was perpetually on the move whether he was in his car traveling, in the woods hunting, on the lake fishing or in his barn working on vehicles. He did not stay still very long.

Keith loved his family, co-workers and friends and in return received back that love in many ways. He would do anything for anybody and that included a homeless man that he befriended. His son Greg’s special memories are the countless hunting and fishing trips they enjoyed together and his other son Scott’s favorite times are the many projects they worked on over the years.

Per Keith’s wishes, there will be no prior visitation. A memorial service with full military honors will be held in the spring at a date to be determined.
