WELLSVILLE– Deborah “Debbie” Carol Stuart, 66, passed away on Wednesday (January 14, 2026) at home following a lengthy illness.

Deborah was born on September 21, 1959 in New Brunswick, N.J. to Charles and Nancy (Burgess) Summers, Sr. She was a 1977graduate of Jamesburg High School in Jamesburg, N.J. Following graduation, she enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.

Debbie was a dedicated delivery driver for UPS serving many years in Central Jersey. She later went on to be a warehouse manager for Grainger for several years before retiring.

Deborah is survived by a brother, Jimmie (Clara) Summers of North Brunswick, N.J.; two nieces, Chaslyn Summers of Wellsville and Stephanie (Cliff) Robinson of Edison, N.J.; three grand nephews, Alex, Niko, and Jacob; two grand nieces, Sadie and Aaliyah; three sister-in laws, Eileen Alden of Wellsville, Patricia Summers of West Allis, Wis., and Dawn Summers of Bound Brook, N.J.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by a sister, Sondia ‘Sandy’ Summers, two brothers, Charles Edward Summers, Jr. and David Summers, and three half-siblings Violet Click, Donna Gaye Bennett and Dwayne Bennett.

Debbie loved beaches. She was happiest with her toes in the sand, cherishing trips to her favorite beaches: Sandy Hook, Myrtle Beach, Tampa Bay, and Asbury Park. For Debbie, a day at the beach surrounded by her family was the perfect combination of her two greatest joys.

Debbie enjoyed watching TV and Disney movies, notably Dr. Quinn, Touched by an Angel, and The Lion King. Despite her small stature, Debbie liked to eat and had a hearty appetite. Her favorite tradition was Friday night ‘dinner and a movie’ with her family, a weekly ritual she looked forward to.

Debbie prided herself in being a very hands-on aunt, tagging along with the kids for any occasion. Her family describes her as loyal, loving, protective, and determined. That determination often shone through in what they affectionately called her “annoyingly caring” nature. She was known for dropping everything at a moment’s notice to help her family, no matter how great the need.

Debbie liked to take long spur of the moment trips, enjoying the adventures she found along the way. She was a lifelong lover of the road and would go ‘anywhere and everywhere,’ but her true destination was always wherever her family happened to be.

There will be no prior visitation. A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Friday (April 10) at 11:00 a.m. in Fernwood Cemetery in Jamesburg, N.J. where her ashes will be laid to rest beside her mother.
