Patricia A. Chase-Slee

July 20, 1937 - August 16, 2024

ANGELICA – Patricia P. “Pat” Chase-Slee, 87, passed away on Friday (August 16, 2024) at home following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Chase-Slee was born in Poughkeepsie on July 20, 1937 to William G. and Edith A. (Osterhoudt) Prince. Pat spent the majority of her life in that area, where she retired as a switchboard operator from Poughkeepsie Savings Bank. She previously worked as an operator for New York Telephone for many years for which she was very proud.

In 1956, Pat married Leroy G. Chase, who preceded her in death on July 28, 1995. Samuel O. Slee caught her eye and won her heart, marrying her in 2002. Sam predeceased her in 2007.

Pat is survived by her children, Linda Ann (Charles) Manucso of Angelica, Roberta Grant of Pleasant Valley, Roy Chase of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Lisa Chase (Mary Jane Palmer) of Olive Branch, Miss.; a sister, Valerie Prince Griffen of Rhinebeck; five grandchildren, Eric Mehmel, Jennifer (Joseph) Crowe, Jason Mehmel, Talia Herdman (Justin Barnes) and Jacob Chase; many great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Along with her husbands, Pat was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Woodman.

Pat was an industrious person who enjoyed staying busy with work and various projects. She pursued a clean home with vigor. She loved flowers and daisies were her particular delight.

A favorite get-away was to vacation in Maine with a dear friend. But her primary pleasure in life was the time she spent with her children and many grandchildren.

There will be no prior visitation. A Celebration of Life in Poughkeepsie will be held at a time to be determined where her ashes will be laid to rest in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery beside her mother. Arrangements are under the direction of Baker-Swan Funeral Home ins Wellsville/Scio. Online condolences may be offered at www.baker-swan.com.

  1. Dear Linda, Roberta, Roy & Lisa, it’s kinda hard to sum up a lifetime of memories. I’ll say that Pat was a force of nature (as all of you are!). It’s the end of an era. My Mom and your Mom together again. Heaven’s got its hands full now! Sending along Love & Peace to you all. I’ll miss her.

  3. It’s hard to sum up a lifetime of memories but you were always like a second mother to me I’m just curious what kind of ice cream they have in heaven you’ll have to let me know all my love to the family
