Anthony P. Sliski

June 4, 1953 - April 11, 2025

SCIO – Anthony P. “Tony” Sliski, 71, passed away on Friday (April 11, 2025) at home following a lengthy illness, surrounded by family.

Mr. Sliski was born on June 4, 1953 in New Britain, Conn. to Richard and Elvira (Arini) Sliski. He earned his Associates of Science from Alfred State College. On May 26, 1984 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Strongsville, Ohio, he married Carol A. Heininger, who survives.

Tony worked as a parts clerk for Saputo (formerly Friendship Dairy) for many years until his retirement in the early 2020’s.

In addition to his wife of 40 years, Tony is survived by a daughter, Angelique Sliski of Hornell; a son, Anthony J. (Jena Gentile) Sliski of Cleveland, Ohio; a brother, Richard Sliski of Seneca Falls; a sister-in-law, Diana Sliski of Strongsville, Ohio; two grandchildren, K’Lah Dent and Ciara Hamilton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Vita Sliski.

Tony was a giving person who was willing to do anything for his family and friends. He was like a second father to his niece. He lived a simple lifestyle, enjoyed history and had a strong interest in the paranormal. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing. Tony also enjoyed Italian cooking; a favorite pastime of his mother, with CousCous being one of his most popular meals.

Tony loved music, especially Rock and Roll. He played bass guitar in a band called Mad Dog for many years.

  3. Carol I’m not sure you remember me. I’m Frances and Andy’s daughter. I’m was sad to here of Tony’s passing but seeing his picture put a smile on my face. Boy I haven’t thought of Mad Dog in years. When I think of Tony I think of the young teen John Lennon hippy guy with round glasses and long hair. He was always happy and upbeat. My deepest condolences to you and your entire family.
