Eileen M. Alden

July 1, 1959 - April 17, 2026

WELLSVILLE – Eileen Marie Alden, 66, passed away on Friday (April 17, 2026) at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville following a lengthy illness.

Eileen was born on July 1, 1959 in Buffalo to Roy D. Alden, Sr. and Reta J. (Goodridge) Alden. She was a 1978 graduate of Bound Brook High School in Bound Brook, N.J.

Eileen worked for many years as a telephone supervisor for AT&T in Bedminster, N.J.

Eileen is survived by a daughter, Chaslyn Summers of Wellsville; a son, Christopher (April Hall) Sauls of Wellsville; two brothers, Michael Alden of Salem, Oregon and Roy Alden, Jr. of Buffalo; one sister, Nancy Cetrulo of Albany, Oregon; two especially close cousins, Gary Goodridge and Robert Alden; six grandchildren, Jacob, Taylor, Lauryn, Nathan, Aaliyah and Martin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her father, Roy D. Alden, Sr., her mother, Reta J. Holinko and the fathers of her children, Charles Summers and Martin Sauls.

Eileen favorite pastime was being outdoors on a nice sunny day. She often walked, and later was wheeled to Fassett Greenspace on Main Street in Wellsville just to take in the beauty of the sights and watch people walk by.

Eileen was freely giving of her time. She often helped out with the Community Action Angels, a program of ACCORD Corporation, in handing out hams, turkeys and Christmas gifts to local residents in need. And when she came across a little extra in her personal finances, she generously purchased these items for her tenant neighbors. She also gave her time in crocheting blankets and scarves to give out as gifts to family and friends.

Eileen loved music and handed down that love to her children. In times past, she often visited the Creative Arts Center, especially when her son was playing his guitar at open mic night. A favorite shared memory with her daughter were the many trips from New Jersey to Buffalo and Wellsville, singing together with the radio.

Reflecting on their favorite memories, her son Chris remembers the pine wigwam they built together and the trip to the lake collecting tadpoles and her daughter Chaslyn watching her mom putting on makeup for work, thinking she was the prettiest woman in the world. What an impact Eileen had just by being present.

Finally, Eileen was a woman of great faith and expressed how she longed to be in the presence of her Lord and Savior. That faith has now been realized, beyond her greatest expectation.

There will be no prior visitation. A graveside service at Knights Creek Cemetery will be held at a time to be determined. Arrangements are under the direction of Baker-Swan Funeral Home in Wellsville/Scio. Online condolences may be offered at www.baker-swan.com.
