Andrew A. Prentice

August 23, 1983 - April 28, 2023

RICHBURG – Andrew Adam Prentice, 39, passed away Friday (April 28, 2023) at his home.

Mr. Prentice was born on August 23, 1983 in Saint Petersburg Fla., to William Charles Prentice and Ixa I. (Morales) Chase. He attended Whitesville Central School.

Andrew worked for many oil rig companies throughout his career, most recently at I & S Inc. of NY for the last ten years.

Andrew is survived by his children Aidan Prentice of Bolivar, Andi Jean Prentice of Delevan; his stepchildren Karson Ahrens, Kaylor Ahrens and Kamryn Ahrens, all of Richburg; his mother, Ixa I. Morales-Chase (Jim) of Richburg; a stepmother, Michelle Prentice Maloney of Dunellen, Fla.; a brother Charles Morales (Danielle) of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters Rachel Lundy of Delevan and Alexis Prentice (Scott Stuckey) of Wellsville; two stepsisters Renee Ray and Nicky Handmore, a brother-in-law Bill Lundy of Pittsburgh, Pa.; the mother of his son, Angie Gentzyel of Bolivar; an uncle John Lawler (Tina) of Allentown; two grandmothers, Sharon Morales of Neptune, N.J. and Doris Quinones of East Isabela, Puerto Rico; nephews Damien Billings, William Lundy, Caleb Bailey, baby Ryan Lewis; and a niece, Jalysa Prentice.

He was predeceased by his father, William Charles Prentice; an infant brother, William R. Prentice; his grandmother, Wilma Prentice; his grandfather, Lee Roy Morales; an uncle, Roy B. Prentice; and cousin Seth Prentice.

Andrew enjoyed his children and family and cherished the times with them. His most precious memory was the birth of his son and daughter, Aidan and Andi Jean. He and his son often worked out together, especially with Aidan soon to be joining the Army. Andrew liked to go fishing with his father. Some of their favorite fishing holes were Alma Pond and York’s Corners.

Andrew also enjoyed the outdoors and riding dirt bikes and motorcycles. He had a talent for mechanical things and was always working on something. He was able to ‘fix anything’. Andrew was best described as a kind, easy going guy who liked to tell jokes and make people laugh.

Friends and family may call at Baker-Swan Funeral Home in Wellsville/Scio on Saturday (May 6) from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home immediately following the visitation with Rev. Carl Kemp of Knights Creek Church in Scio, officiating. Burial will take place at Whitesville Rural Cemetery in Whitesville at the convenience of the family.

  2. Had the pleasure of spending a good amount of time with Andrew when we were younger and considered him a great friend. Have a lot of good memories with him and other family members. He will be missed
