ANDOVER – Bruce C. Harris, 76, passed away on Wednesday (May 25, 2022) at Gutherie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa. following a brief illness.

Bruce worked as a millwright for BE&K Construction Company based in Alabama for many years. He later worked for Joyce Pipeline and Otis Eastern Service, Inc. in Andover. In 1994 he started BSK Hobbies and Raceway in Hornell, retiring in 2004.

Bruce loved everything about cars. His wife said “Put a steering wheel in his hands and turn on the music and Bruce would be perfectly content.” He loved stock car racing of any type or surface and also enjoyed NASCAR and Indy racing. Bruce’s hobby shop was full of slot cars that he had been collecting since a teenager. He also enjoyed buying and selling radio-controlled cars.

When it came to music, Bruce was a huge Elvis fan but also enjoyed most of the older rock and roll. In his younger days he enjoyed playing cards, sometimes playing almost all night. He was known to enjoy some Crown Royal on occasion.

Some favorite memories are the time he and Shirley vacationed in Niagara Falls and the trip to Salamanca Casino with his daughter. He was a long-time member of the Wellsville Elks Lodge #1495.
