Thomas W. McCabe, Jr.

August 14, 1955 - May 21, 2022

SCIO –Thomas W. McCabe, Jr., 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday (May 21, 2022) after a long illness surrounded by family.

Mr. McCabe was born on August 14, 1955 in Kenmore to Thomas W. and Jean M. (Varshay) McCabe, Sr. He married Amy L. Gleave, who predeceased him on December 27, 2014.

Tom was a heavy equipment operator for Frontier Stone, Inc. in Lockport for many years.

Tom is survived by four children, Heidi (Thomas) Heary, Thomas W. (Leah) McCabe III, Vincent (Jen) McCabe and Kevin McCabe; seven siblings, Kim Pusateri, Debra (Carmine) Pisano, Timothy “Timmy” McCabe, James “Jimmy” McCabe, Jeffrey (Jennifer) McCabe, Coleen McCabe and Andrew (Lin) McCabe; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Cassidy, Tommy, Katie, Vincent, Jovi, and Evan; one great grandchild, McKenzie; his best friend of 45 years, Charles McConnaughey; and Felicia Heary, who provided Tom with excellent care during his illness.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a son Colin McCabe and grandson, Tristan.

Tom was fascinated with clocks and lamps and enjoyed collecting both. He delighted in spending time with his large family, especially at their hot dog and hamburger cookouts. He lived for his children and took great pleasure in their company.

The family will be present Tuesday (May 31) from 6 -8:30 p.m. at the (Amherst Chapel) Amigon Funeral Home, Inc., 5200 Sheridan Dr. (at Hopkins Road), where the funeral service will immediately follow at 8:30 p.m. with Fr. Moses Ikuelogbon of St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church, officiating.
